List Yourself: List All of the Reading Material in Your Bathroom

I actually have a huge stack of magazines in my upstairs bathroom. I wound up with this subscription to multiple magazines a few years ago. I canceled the card because I was pretty sure it was a scam but they just kept sending me magazines. The magazines managed to follow me to my new address and they are just for weird stuff. So I just have piles and piles of magazines. I have the internet so I don't read magazines. So into the bathroom they go for the off chance I forget my phone or we have guests over. Us Weekly and Bloomberg Businessweek are the only two I actually care about.
Before the magazines came into my life I would read the back of hair products, the back of the tampon box. I would just read everything in the bathroom no matter how many times I had read it before. It was just a habit. I guess that's why my mother put up educational posters in the bathroom at her house. That way you can learn about the circulatory system while you do your business.

I finally made it to Enger Tower

My friends were in town for my wedding and in an attempt to take them sight seeing we went up to Enger Tower. I've lived here for over a year now and I hadn't made it up there. I can't believe it took me so long. It's practically a straight shot from my house, of course it's basically across town but it's not as hard to get there as I thought it was.

It's gorgeous up there this time of year. I definitely need to go back up. It was beautiful this past weekend and I'm glad I went. Also this picture turned out pretty amazing.

Hello September

My August goals did not go as planned. I got caught up in being stressed out about money, work, and my upcoming wedding. But now it's September, summer is over and I'm okay with that. I'm ready for some cooler weather.

I'm not ready for the impending holiday rush that will last from next week until March.

I'm getting back into my daily writing and that should help with my blogging. After doing my 750 words I really just want to write a blog post with my left over energy after all the worries and crap is out of my head.

I've changed my schedule so I'm going to be working in the middle of the day more. So I have to get up with an alarm and eat breakfast so I might as well include this in my routine. I'm probably going to create a list of topics and just write about a random topic each day because my life is pretty boring. Go into a Walmart in your area and watch a cashier and it will be like you're watching me at work.

Also the street in front of my house is under construction and there is a huge hole in the ground.

Sidewalk Art at Walmart

I found this little guy drawn on the sidewalk out in front of Walmart. I walked past it and then had to come back for a picture. I'm pretty sure it's drawn around a gum spot.

Ingress - My New Favorite Geo Game

The other day I found an article online about this game called Ingress. The basic premise is that there is this weird energy seeping into the world though "portals." Portals are located near statues, historical locations, and places of cultural interest like museums or churches. There are two teams who are fighting over each of these portals to capture them and harness the energy.

This game is interesting because you have to physically move to these locations to be able to do anything. You have to do additional walking around to gain energy to be able to complete actions at these locations.

I've been looking for a GPS based game ever since I got my iPhone. I live near the Duluth Lakewalk and there are plenty of "portals" located along it. So all I have to do is go down there and I can play until my phone goes dead. This is only about half of the area I walk to. I can walk further down the lakewalk and I'll hit Canal Park and there's just as many portals there. I accidentally walked down there the other day and I found I can get there in an hour if I'm walking at a regular pace.

What is that?

"What is that?"
"It's a gate to cover their trashbins."

No. That's not what I was pointing to. Josh, Chris, and I have started taking long walks around downtown Duluth. We found this on our way back to our house. It appears to be a branch with a bunch of fake birds glued to it. I have no idea.

Date Night at Applebees.

Josh has been making some resolutions to better himself so we went on a date night to get some couple time in. Applebees half-apps are one of our favorite because they're so cheap and long islands are so cheap and delicious.

So first we just sat and held hands and stared at each other. Because we're adorable and just super weird. I laughed first and lost. I started thinking about how silly we must look to everyone around us.

They had a bunch of new appetizers and we tried the Sriracha Shrimp which was good but not necessarily $10 good.

I got long islands and chicken wonton tacos which were delicious as usual. Josh went for the beer pub pretzels even though they weren't half off.

I'm not being paid for this post but I should be.

Fitger's Daycare in Duluth, MN

Did you know the Fitger's complex has daycare? Me either until I was wandering through and found it. Are you kidding me. What?

Skyline Drive

Josh took me up to the skyline drive because he wasn't feeling very good and didn't want to go for a full walk. Turns out people really like to throw stuff off this hill.

From a distance it looked like a tv on top of a mini fridge. Turns out it was on top of an open safe. How about that. We also found the top of a parking meter and considered taking it home with us but it was heavy and I didn't know what we would do with it so Josh threw it down the hill.

Valentines Date at Qdoba

Josh and I went to Qdoba for lunch because they had a buy one get one free deal on smothered burritos if you kissed someome. So we kissed and ate burritos. They were quite good. Also you can't go wrong with free guacamole. Though it was kind of hard to eat since you couldn't pick it up and eat it. I left a lot of the tortilla in the bowl.
