The blank pages stares up at me
Asking me
Begging me to write something
Anything
"lift the pen" it coaxes
"make a mark"
I hold it poised
Unsure
What if I write the wrong thing
What if I ruin this perfect page
Sometimes the words just won't come
I make long strokes
Sketching nothing
