I close my eyes and try to think
To clear my mind of everything
I need to sit in peace
To let my mind clear
So I can begin to rebuild my life
One step at a time
One thought at a time
It will take a while
For the pain to fade
And the trust to be rebuilt
But it will happen
I will survive
The happiness will return
As it is already beginning to do
As some left my life
Others entered it
They are better
They treat me better
I am thankful for my friends
And those who have become more
